I tend towards the old fashion. I love stationary and am one of the few who still sends handwritten thank you notes on a consistent basis. I also adore invitations that arrive in the mail. I love the feel of the card stock and smell of the ink. I like to tack it to my bulletin board and anticipate the event. There is something to be send about the formality of a written note or a custom printed invitation -- it shows you took the time to make it special. I love that. Again, maybe a tad old fashion.
All that said, I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with this new app! POST allows you to design and send stunning custom invites from your iPhone! Yes, I do see the irony, or rather hypocrisy, in this post. I've decided, though, that I cannot remain a dinosaur whilst the rest of the world becomes more and more tech savvy (though I refuse to stop using the word whilst). I also find that some friends are actually annoyed (yes annoyed - they've told me) by my note writing - something about setting the bar for everyone else. I see a compromise here. Maybe a text thank you can be appropriate if you make it (at the very least) look pretty. Ditto a casual dinner invitation. POST is only a 99 cent app and you can chose from over 50 designs!!

It is very cute! The first time I tried to use it, though, I noted how slow it is. But so cute, I'll learn to be patient. Like you are with your laundry. ; )
